Both my interviews this past week went great. The police chief was as forthcoming as any of my best sources, and I think the article will be a good one. Also, it looks as if I have a new blog job - along with opportunities to write articles for a new regional parenting publication - upcoming in the new year. Thanks for all the good thoughts!! I'll keep you posted.

Patti, yeah, I'm a tiny bit concerned. On the one hand, after chasing my boys around for the last three weeks and not writing much, I'd been concerned about whether I'd have to put my career on hold yet again (such as it is to begin with). So all this seems like a "sign" if you believe in those kinds of things. On the other hand, I don't want it to take too much away from the boys. That balance thing again...
The only way to deal with it is to give it a try. I've been undisciplined lately and I think the work will help me with that. And, it pays. With home heating oil the way it is this year, we'll need every bit we can get!
